Patient stories

Real patients. Real outcomes.

Every patient at Renacare has a story. Here are some we have been allowed to share — dialysis journeys, transplant recoveries, fistula salvages and second chances. Each one is published with consent and reviewed against the patient's own clinical record.

Stories we are preparing to publish.

These outlines are based on real Renacare patient journeys. Names, photos and final wording are pending each patient's written consent. We do not publish anything we cannot verify.

Diabetic CKD stage 5, on dialysis since 2023

A diabetic CKD patient in her late sixties was running thrice-weekly hemodialysis at a chain centre. Exhaustion, recovery days and missed family time were stacking up. Renacare moved her onto a home HD prescription with a trained partner. Sessions are now slower and gentler, four mornings a week. She is back to her one-hour morning walk and her grandchildren's tiffin routine.

“I get my afternoons back, and I have not been to a centre in four months.”

Live-related kidney transplant, 4 years post-op

A senior IT manager received a live-related transplant in 2022. Renacare picked up his long-term follow-up — immunosuppression titration, viral load monitoring and yearly transplant work. Four years on, the graft is stable, he is back to full-time work and has resumed badminton twice a week. No graft rejection events, no hospital admissions.

“Dr. Bhatt remembers my last creatinine without checking the file. That kind of attention is rare.”

CKD stage 5, on hemodialysis 8 years

A patient in her seventies had been on hemodialysis for eight years across two chain centres. Repeated access issues and a missed potassium spike pushed the family to switch. Renacare reviewed her prescription end-to-end, rebuilt her dry weight, optimised anaemia management and re-credentialed her fistula. Six months in, her recovery time after each session has dropped by half.

“For the first time in years, I feel my dialysis is actually working for me.”

Drug-induced AKI, recovered without chronic dialysis

A 45-year-old executive walked in with creatinine of 9.2, after a course of NSAIDs and antibiotics for a foot infection. Renacare started him on supportive hemodialysis the same day and treated the underlying interstitial nephritis. Eleven sessions over three weeks; kidney function recovered fully. He has been off dialysis since, with creatinine settled at 1.1.

“I was told I might never come off dialysis. Six weeks later I was discharged.”

[Patient name — to be added]
Stenotic AV fistula, 3 prior centre failures

A patient came in with a poorly developing AV fistula after three unsuccessful procedures at other hospitals over six months. She had been dialysing on a permcath, struggling with infections. Renacare's interventional nephrology team did a fistuloplasty under ultrasound and a venous transposition. The fistula was cannulated for the first time within four weeks. Permcath removed; line-free for over a year now.

“I had given up on ever using my arm. Now my fistula does the work.”

[Patient name — to be added]
CKD stage 5, NRI from Dubai, coordinated transplant

A Dubai-based engineer with progressive CKD wanted his transplant workup in India. Renacare coordinated everything end-to-end — medical visa letter, donor (his sister) workup completed in ten days, NOTTO documentation, transplant booking at the partner unit and bridge dialysis during the wait. Post-op residency was 4 weeks. He is back in Dubai working, with quarterly tele-reviews from Dr. Bhatt.

“From WhatsApp to walking out of the transplant ward, Renacare handled all of it.”

How we work with patient stories.

Every story is written with the patient or family and signed off in writing before publication. Clinical claims are checked against the patient's own record. We never publish without consent and never identify a patient who has asked to remain anonymous.

Only what you agree to is published. You may share your full name and photo, first name only, initials, or stay anonymous — the choice is yours. Clinical details outside what you authorise are never disclosed.

Email info@renacareckdr.com or WhatsApp +91 98181 83957 with a short note about your kidney journey. Our team will arrange a 15-minute call, draft your story with you and send a consent form before anything is published.

Yes, at any time and without giving a reason. Email us and we will take the story down within 48 hours. Your medical care is in no way connected to whether your story is or is not published.
