Home hemodialysis

Dialysis at home, with a nephrologist still in charge.

We set up the machine in your home, train your carer, and stay on call. You keep your routine; we keep the clinical oversight.

What it is

The treatment, in plain language.

Home hemodialysis is the same treatment you would get in a centre — blood filtered through a dialyzer to remove toxins and fluid — delivered in your living room instead of a clinic. A trained partner (usually a family member or hired carer) runs the session under remote nephrologist supervision. Most patients dialyse 4-5 times a week for shorter durations, which is gentler on the heart and gives better day-to-day energy than the standard thrice-weekly schedule. Renacare offers home hemodialysis as a real option for eligible patients across Delhi NCR — even though it earns the network less per session than in-centre. The clinical data supports it for the right patient.

Who it's for

Is this the right treatment for you?

  • If travel to a centre takes more than 45 minutes each way.
  • If you want to dialyse more often, more gently, on your own schedule.
  • If you work from home, run a business or care for young children.
  • If you are awaiting a transplant and want better long-term outcomes.
  • If your fistula or PD catheter is functioning well and you have space for a small machine.
How Renacare does it

Our standard, not the industry standard.

Home assessment

We visit, check water, power and space, and tell you exactly what your home needs (plumbing tweak, RO unit, dedicated socket).

Training, not handover

4-6 weeks of supervised training for you and your partner — we sign you off only when you can run a session solo.

Machine, water, consumables

Delivered, installed and serviced. You do not chase vendors.

24/7 nephrologist line

Any alarm, any number, any time — a Renacare nephrologist answers, not a call centre.

Monthly home visit

A nephrologist or senior nurse visits monthly to review labs, dry weight, access and machine logs in person.

Backup in-centre slot

If you need a maintenance break, your in-centre slot at the nearest Renacare unit is held open.

What to expect

A real session, step by step.

Week 1-2 is assessment and home setup. Week 3-6 is training at our Sector 37 Noida centre — you and your carer practise on real machines. Once cleared, you start at home with a nurse present for the first sessions. After that, you run your own schedule. We review your numbers weekly and visit monthly. If your access is sound and your numbers stay stable, home hemodialysis can continue for years — gentler on the heart and easier on the family.

FAQ

Questions patients ask before they start.

Yes, when training is real. Every session is logged and reviewed by your nephrologist. You have a 24/7 phone line, and we visit monthly. The data shows home dialysis has equal or better outcomes than in-centre when patients are properly trained.

The monthly cost is comparable to thrice-weekly in-centre dialysis, sometimes lower once you factor in travel, attendant time and missed work. We give a written month-by-month estimate, including machine rental and consumables.

Either works. Most families train a spouse, adult child or hired nurse as the dialysis partner. Renacare trains whoever you choose. You don't have to do it yourself.

All home setups include UPS backup. For alarms, you call the 24/7 nephrology line — we walk you through the response. For repeated issues, a technician visits the same day.

Yes. Your in-centre slot at the nearest Renacare centre is held open during the transition. Switching back is a single phone call, not a re-registration.
